Getting married in Ostuni & the Valle d'Itria

Wedding planner based in Ostuni, the White City of Puglia

Ostuni is my home, and the area I know best. The whitewashed old town sits on a hill above a sea of olive trees, with the Adriatic a few kilometres away. Inland, the Valle d'Itria is the land of trulli, vineyards and the small towns of Cisternino, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Alberobello.

BEST FOR
Countryside masserie, trulli, intimate and large weddings

NEAREST AIRPORT
Brindisi (BDS), approx. 35–40 min

BEST MONTHS
May–June, September–October

GUEST STAYS
Masserie, trulli and boutique hotels in town

VENUES AND CEREMONIES

Most couples choose a masseria among the olive groves for the reception, often with the symbolic ceremony in the same venue. A Catholic ceremony in one of Ostuni's churches, followed by a reception in the countryside, is a classic combination. In the Valle d'Itria, trulli estates are perfect for smaller weddings and welcome dinners.

PLANNING TIPS

The narrow streets of the old town are lovely for photos but not for coaches: I organise shuttles from the guests' hotels to the ceremony and the venue. In summer, ceremonies start late in the afternoon to avoid the heat.
